Bryce Canyon National Park - June 10

Got up early and headed to Bryce Canyon. We are running out of adjectives to describe the beauty we are seeing. Many people have told us this is their favorite park and it was pretty spectacular. Unfortunately, our photos don't capture the depth and vastness of the formations called hoodoos. All the more reason why you should go and see them for yourselves!

Started off with just a few hoodoos and, after a brief walk, a nice little waterfall.

Then we got to the canyon overlook and hiked the trail around the rim. We are getting used to this hiking in higher elevations, thank goodness.

Look at the colors in the sand!

Matthew loves the beauty of the fallen trees, and we were fascinated by the twisted trunks. Turns out, they don't know why some trees twist while one right next to it won't. Fascinating.

Loved coming across these surveyor marks.

Then we drove to a higher elevation.

And saw our last arch as we headed to our free dispersed camping site in Dixie National Forest.
