Drove to the southernmost part of the UP to visit the historic town of Fayette where charcoal pig iron was produced between 1867 and 1891.
Pig iron ingots - very heavy
Charcoal making oven
Former pier
The water was so clear, but, like Lake Michigan, this probably isn't a good thing but rather the result of invasive mussels that are over-filtering the water
The furnaces and factory
He was right along the path and mostly unphased by us
But then he corssed over to join his lady friend
Found hidden in the wall of one of the middle class homes - someone had a morphine addiction
The music hall and generalevent space
If its old it isn't graffiti - artist signatures behind the stage
Drove to Marquette and spent the night lotdocking at Walmart
