Drove to Jordan Harbor to kayak on Lake Ontario.
La Grande Hermine was a replica of one of the 3 ships that Jacques Cartier used when exploring the St. Lawrence River in 1535. It began as a ferry in 1914 and came to the harbor in 1997 when the then-owner wanted to turn it into a restaurant or casino. he died before that happened and then the ship was the victim of an arson. So here it sits, in all its rusting glory.
The lake was much calmer today then it was on Erie a few days ago
The water was so clear and the day was so beautiful that we beached the kayaks and went for a swim.
Tadpoles!
Cool rocks
It was hot
The owner encouraged us to have a fire which was perfect as the evening got cool. Sat and visited with another boondocking couple who were just beginning to RV so had lots of questions. Turns out that although they live in Ontario, the husband grew up in Brockton, MA, home of my grandparents during my youth - small world.
Their sign glowed when the phone flashlight was pointed at it. This was our favorite Harvest Host stop to date
