After checking out a spot recommended as a place to put into Lake Huron and deciding that we did not want to drag our kayaks down a steep cliff - and worse, drag them bag up when we were done, we drove to the Bayfield Marina for an easy entry.
That tiny speck on the horizon is teh Police Boat that stopped alongside us to be sure we were wearing life preservers. Thanks to Christy Kurtz and her Paddle KC offerings we were able to tell them we not only were wearing vests, but we also had a whistle attached, an extra paddle and a bilge pump in each boat, and an inReach satellite emergency device! We had also checked the weather before heading out.
The village of Bayfield was cute and touristy, but this house off the usual path caught my eye.

Interesting choice to embed in the walkway at the Boondockers Welcome host in Midland, Michigan
Midland had beautiful large flower pots everywhere but the street lined with petunias was incredible
