Day 3 - Nebraska
Another night in a Walmart parking lot, this time in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, where it was still snowy and cold, but oh so beautiful. It has been so windy in Nebraska, I can't imagine living in this wind all the time! Scott's Bluff was the first real landmark for the wagon trains on the Oregon and California Trails, signifying that they were a third (!) of the way to their destinations.
This wasn't a concern this day.
A Mormon handcart in the background - imagine not just walking but also pushing all your belongings along the way. We think we would have stayed behind.
Hiked on the bluff - it was so cold, but the views!
Spring was trying to make an appearance.
After Scott's Bluff, we headed on toward Wyoming. The roads were open again, even though I-80 had been closed due to 8 inches of snow earlier.
